Russian hackers bring down TV station

Reports from Russia suggest that a local hacker has successfully downed a Russia Today, Russia's first English language TV station, after s/he managed to attack the station's computer systems.

The station went off the air for several hours on Monday, when the hacker tried to infect the company's computer system with a series of viruses.

According to Margarita Simonyan, the channel's editor in chief, full programming cannot resume until the technical problems have been resolved.

I felt quite sorry until I learned that the station's owners are the Kremlin, which has spent around 29 million euros establishing the operation.

My heart bleeds...
