AVG arrives for Linux users

Grisoft, the company behind the popular AVG Windows anti-virus package, has finally released a version of its software for the Linux platform.

As with its standalone PC Windows software, AVG for Linux is free to consumers and not-for-profit organisational users.

So is the Linux platform a virus-writer's paradise?

Not yet, but according to Michael Foreman, a partner with AVG UK, with its growing popularity, it's only a matter of time before the Linux operating system becomes more widely targeted by virus and malware writers.
