Big Brother is watching you...

No I'm not talking about that disgraceful Galloway/Lenska farce on C4, but the fact that Royal London Insurance has installed 3ami's monitoring and audit system on its computer network.

According to 3ami, the system can monitor the PC interactions of the insurer's 2,900-odd staff across the UK.

Nick Harwood, the insurer's group IT security manager, is apparently at pains to say that, "although the system will let us, we do not sit and secretly watch what people are doing day-to-day, but we do consider it our responsibility to be able to check, if we need to, how our IT is being used."

The IT monitoring system is also designed to monitor for libellous, sexist, discriminatory, bullying or abusive language in emails or other documents.

Booger - that's killed any chance of a good joke doing the rounds on the insurer's computer system then!...
