Anti-shoulder surfing system developed

A researcher at Warwick University (where else -Ed) has developed a specialised magnifying lens for use with EFTPOS PINpads.

As well as making it easier for people with sight problems to see the PINpad, it also stops third parties from peeking over their shoulder to see their PIN being entered.

Neil Radford's PINpad lens is reportedly getting a lot of attention from banks and other interested parties, mainly because of the security possibilities.

The system is already being piloted by Boots in a Cambridge store and further trials are planned by the Royal National Institute for the Blind in June and July.

Sounds good - now when do we move over to PIN and signature systems for real security? (stop laughing at the back -Ed)...
