I was intrigued to discover this week that my Morgan Stanley MasterCard isn't chip-and-pin enabled, so I gave the card issuer a ring.
"We're not sending out chip-and-pin cards until cards are renewed, or where the cardholder requests one," said the call centre person.
So I requested one. Only to discover that you can't change the PIN at a cash machine, as is the case with most other cards. You have to ask Morgan Stanley to change the PIN, which involves the bank issuing you with a new card!
Bizarre - anyone would think that Morgan Stanley hadn't heard of PIN offsets...
