HSBC anti-fraud boys on my trail

Got a call yesterday lunchtime on the home number from the anti-fraud division at HSBC, requesting confirmation that a couple of rail ticket transactions at Thetrainline.com were genuine.

The reason? Normally I used my credit card to buy tickets in advance from the Web site, but since the cheeky monkeys are now charging £1.50 for the use of credit cards, I've switched to using my debit card.

Which HSBC, quite rightly, identified as unusual behaviour on my part and so they queried the transactions.

Initially I was a bit concerned about the possible invasion of privacy, but I've concluded the system checks are really in my best interests...
