I'm pleased to report that Celltalk, which used to be one of the largest suppliers of mobile phones in the 1990s, and which had diversified into sending out bulk SMS advertising messages, has gone into administration.
Latterly the company traded as www.clubmobile.co.uk and also had a mobile phone reconditioning service that flogged second-hand handsets to third world countries.
What used to upset UK mobile users is that the firm was reportedly behind the issue of unsolicited texts inviting mobile users to upgrade their handsets through its MobileUpd8 brand.
This is SMS spam, whichever way you look at it. Bye-bye Celltalk...
