Modern hackers are less interested in cracking systems and making them fall over for fun, are now going after the money, according to Yuval Ben-Itzhak, chief technology officer with IT security firm Finjan.
According to Ben-Itzhak, hackers are selling their latest spyware techniques and security flaws discoveries to the highest bidder.
Quoted in the latest edition of eSecurity Planet, the Finjan CTO says that hackers are now soliciting bids for their knowledge from people prepared to pay.
According to Ben-Itzhak, many hackers now prefer to compromise a machine and leave it to operate normally, allowing other users to access the system remotely at a later stage.
"A connected machine has a lot of value (to hackers) versus one that doesn't work anymore," he said. And he's right too...
