Newham's Olympic Ambition

IP already plays an important role in delivering communications within the borough and has contributed significant annual savings. It is now planning the next phase of development – in time for the Olympics hosted within the borough. The extended infrastructure would create the country’s most advanced local authority ICT Network.

Converged systems and wireless connectivity will enable the expansion of a wide range of services across the community including telemedicine and remote care, building Schools for the future (BSF) and home study, On-line council services and e-government, kiosks and digital TV.
