Biomni, an Independent Software Vendor of Request Management Solutions, has addressed its technical staff resourcing needs by sourcing software programmers from Vietnam.
In one of the first outsourcing deals of its kind, Biomni decided to source programming skills in Vietnam, rather than the more popular China or India. The high numbers of technology graduates, a strong work ethic, and its recent accession to the WTO has seen Vietnam’s attractiveness as a location for offshore software development grow in recent years.
Overseen by global recruitment specialists, Harvey Nash, Biomni’s Offshore Development Centre will be based in Hanoi within a larger Harvey Nash facility. Following intensive on-shore product suite training throughout January, the initial team members are already writing code for future product releases.
“The challenge of recruiting and retaining software developers has become tougher in recent years,” says Andreas Antoniou, Chief Technology Officer at Biomni. “We were delighted to turn to Harvey Nash and Vietnam for highly skilled and motivated developers at competitive rates. This initiative allows Biomni to continue to invest in our vision for Request Management solutions whilst responding to specific customer needs. Harvey Nash provides the added comfort of contracting with a UK based company with a local account team.”
Recruitment consultants Harvey Nash helped Biomni to source the right staff in Vietnam. Paul Smith Global MD of Harvey Nash commented: “We are delighted to be working with Biomni. We have been providing software development services in Vietnam for UK companies for over six years. Our CMMI level 5 accreditation ensures that the very best processes and quality is provided enabling our ISV clients to benefit from the skills and lower cost without the need to deeply manage whilst mitigating the normal risks of remote development services”
