Ingres Opens Registration for '07 Conference

Ingres today announces the opening of registration for its one-day Ingres Users Association (IUA) Spring 2007 Conference at De Vere Holborn Bars in London on Wednesday 6th June.

Free to attend, the conference will combine a series of business strategy and technical sessions outlining the development of Ingres' product portfolio, the evolution of its customer and partner ecosystem and its increasing influence in new target sectors, including business intelligence and performance management.

Moderated by Ingres Users Association Chairman, David Postle, and featuring a keynote address from Ingres president and COO, Roger Burkhardt, the conference will outline Ingres' rapid growth in Europe over the past 18 months and highlight increased customer adoption and real-life success stories from major enterprises.

"The Spring conference provides a fantastic opportunity to hear wider-ranging debate on open source issues and ongoing developments within the information management market," said David Postle, Chairman of the Ingres Users Association.

"No other event across Europe offers such a broad spectrum of topics, or brings together all the key movers and shakers within the Ingres community to receive an in-depth view of Ingres' strategy, current implementations and technical expertise. This is a must-attend show for all industry professionals."

The conference will also focus on key market initiatives and technical development of Ingres OpenROAD. It will also outline the company's vision for combining the innovation and flexibility of open source with the security and robustness of enterprise grade solutions.

"We have made great strides in expanding our business since last year's conference, including the launch of Ingres 2006, Project Icebreaker and Ingres OpenROAD, and strategic partnerships with key business intelligence organisations," said Brian Mort, VP Sales, Northern EMEA at Ingres.

"IUA 2007 is the perfect platform to drill down into the detail of these developments, to highlight our Business Open Source strategy and to receive feedback from our committed development community. I'm looking forward to some fascinating presentations and lively debate."

Other significant presentations include 'Ingres Technical Direction - The Next Two Years' from Emma McGrattan, Senior VP of Engineering, and 'Ingres and Business Objects' by Donald McCormick, Chief Transformation Officer at Business Objects. These will be supplemented by over 20 sessions covering application development, connectivity and implementation case studies.
