Online M2M Application Developer Community for Engineers announced

Lantronix, Inc. announced the launch of an online application, service showcase and developer support portal: www.DeviceConnection.net. The site provides a centralised location where customers can find specialised applications or services provided by the Lantronix community of third-party developers. It also provides a secure area for developers to collaborate and share ideas with their peers as they build new products and service offerings.

“DeviceConnection.net is an online marketplace where our customers can find existing applications or developers with specific domain expertise in creating custom solutions that enhance Lantronix hardware and software,” said Bob Cross, senior vice president of research and development of Lantronix.

“Centralising these resources will help speed the adoption of device networking and expand the market potential for our partner’s applications and services. Time-to-market is critical for our customers. DeviceConnection.net will enable them to get customised solutions up and running faster without spending unnecessary time searching for the right resources or the need to develop them in-house.”

In addition to customers and developers, DeviceConnection.net is a resource for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), value-added resellers (VARs), independent software vendors, integrators, distributors and vendors. At DeviceConnection.net, visitors can find a range of information and resources as well as links to specific developer sites for additional information.

Visitors can search for applications or service offerings based on operating system, platform, protocol, industry, application type, country, or language. In addition to the public site, developers can access a password-protected section where they can join discussion groups to share ideas, experiences, and application stories for solutions developed for Lantronix products. They can also upload a variety of technical information.

“As a developer in the device networking marketplace for 15 years, we understand there is a need for customers and OEMs to find quick and cost-effective ways to customise applications to fit their unique environments,” said Mike Justice, president of Grid Connect, Inc.

“DeviceConnection.net will make our job a lot easier because we can now direct our customers to a reliable source to search for specific applications and/or vertical market solutions that have already been proven with other customers. And it will also allow us to promote applications we’ve developed to a broader range of customers and other potential partners. It’s a real win-win.”
