Good to see that, after extensive beta testing, Check Point Software, the new owners of Zone Labs, has released the `gold code' version of its free ZoneAlarm firewall software the Vista platform.
The V1.0 edition of ZoneAlarm coincides with the release of ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 7.1 for Vista.
Check Point claims it is the first major security vendor to use the Windows Filtering Platform API for Vista with its new releases.
Which probably tells you a lot about Microsoft's Vista APIs, as the inside info is that Zone Labs' programmers have been having severe problems with the API of the new operating system, which is why it's taken 'em so long to get this far.
Early reports suggest that the Vista version of ZoneAlarm is fairly stable and punters can download it here...
