Symantec claims to have identified a vulnerability in Adobe's Flash player that can cause the Nintendo Wii console to lock up when viewed on the version of the Opera Web browser installed on the machine.
According to the IT security vendor, the flaw can be exploited if hackers use certain techniques when creating a Flash video. When viewed on the Wii, the machine ends up freezing.
The security flaw - if that's the right word - is interesting, as Opera is one of the most secure browsers currently available.
However, Symantec says this type of bug is a classic example of "the increasing development of hacks that cross operating platforms."
Hmm - more like poor quality coding when reworking and porting the program code for a new platform...
