Satyam Computer Services Ltd., a global consulting and information technology services company, announced hat it has been awarded a three-year contract by KPN for IT services, specifically, testing and quality assurance.
KPN, a European telecommunications provider servicing customers in the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium, constantly strives to enhance its service delivery by, among other initiatives, improving its test processes. As a result, KPN B.V. selected two preferred suppliers who will help the KPN Test organization realize its goals.
Satyam was selected for its testing competencies. It will provide its services for KPN’s Fixed, Mobile, and Internet divisions, via an onsite-offshore model, with most of its team working in an Offshore Development Center (ODC).
Satyam will also help KPN establish an enhanced set of systems and processes in testing and QA, which will give the organization a faster and more standardized approach. By employing this process-centric approach, Satyam will allow KPN to improve productivity, quality, and flexibility, while reducing total cost of ownership.
“After a thorough evaluation of vendors, we chose Satyam as an important partner for our testing domain,” said Jan Muchez, the chief information officer at KPN B.V. “Our customer-centric strategy has required a shift from product orientation to service orientation. With Satyam, we can leverage process automation, offshoring, and its vast resource pool. These talented and committed professionals will complement our own Testing and QA Group, and allow the IT team to focus on core activities.”
“We are delighted to be chosen as an IT partner by KPN,” said Dr. Keshab Panda, senior vice president, director, and head of Satyam’s European operations. “We understand that today’s telecommunication consumers demand continuous connectivity and superior service. That kind of ‘always-on’ availability is enabled by superior testing. As such, we will work closely with KPN to ensure that its customers remain satisfied.
“Moreover, this win builds on an incredible year for Satyam in Europe and further demonstrates our strengths in the IT Application Services arena, as well as the telecommunications industry. It is the latest in a string of important contracts for Satyam in Europe, including FIFA, Nestle, and Currencies Direct.”
