Here's a spot of good news if you've got a recently-purchased iPhone, or are waiting on the impending release of the iPhone in the UK - it seems that Apple's uncrackable 1.1.1 firmware update has been cracked at last.
According to reports on iPhone Alley (where else? -Ed) there is a now multi-step solution to unlocking 1.1.1 firmware versions of the must-have mobile, although, sadly, the unlock procedure is nowhere near as simple as the popular AppTapp software system.
From what I can make out, the software hacks depend on a vulnerability in the way that the iPhone's Safari Web browser handles TIFF images.
As several peeps have already said on the iPhone forums, it won't be too long before Apple patches the loophole, but in the meantime...
