Be Internet gets over-jiggy on Lycos-hosted Web sites

Be Internet - now a division of O2 - has been lambasted by its users for blocking a range of Web sites hosted by Lycos.

According to newswire reports, Be has been blocking access to child abuse images based on a twice-daily update list published by the IWF (Internet Watch Foundation).

Unfortunately for Be's subscribers, rather than block specific groups of pages on the IWF blacklist, the ISP blocked the relevant IP addresses, resulting in complete domains being blocked for much of last week and most of this week.

Be claims to be working on on a solution to the problem and says that anyone experiencing difficulty accessing one of the many sites it has blocked in error should contact the ISP's helpdesk.

Not the best of solutions guys...
