Apple made a u-turn yesterday after apparently admitting defeat in its fight against third party, independent developers.
The Cupertino-based company is readying a software development kit for third parties to create their own applications for the iPhone and the iTouch.
The SDK should be available by February 2008. Apple has been more proactive in nurturing better relationships with non Apple developers which is key to grow the list of applications available.
According to eWeek article, one of the new features of Apple's forthcoming Leopard is a digital signature feature which will allow the Operating system to verify whether an application is legit or whether it is a fake one, something that Microsoft pioneered earlier.
