Spam up significantly year-on-year says Ipswitch

Ipswitch, the network management systems specialist, says that its research suggests that levels of spam seen on company email systems is still rising.

In its analysis of responses from 460 IT managers, the company said that 20 per cent of companies had seen a 100 per cent plus rise in the levels of spam in the last 12 months.

Overall, says the firm, 76 per cent of IT managers reported some sort of increase in spam volumes.

Incredibly, 27 per cent of those surveyed reported receiving complaints from email users about spam on a daily basis, while 25 per cent reported receiving complaints on a weekly basis.

The study's findings are obviously aimed at encouraging punters to think nice things about Ipswitch's technology, but the conclusions are worth checking. You can read more on the survey here....
