Mobile users Losing Millions of Pounds a Year on the Wrong Tariffs Says Survey

Mobile phone users are wasting millions of pounds each month paying for text and talk minute packages they do not need according to a survey commissioned by mobile phone price comparison site Omio.com.

They found that 47% of those questioned are using less than half of their contracted minutes.

In fact 82% - that's more than four out of every five mobile phone users - do not even come close to using their monthly allocation of minutes and texts.

Omio.com also found that 28% of users have unlimited texts as part of their monthly packages.

With more than 30 million mobile phone users in the UK on monthly deals, millions of pounds each year are being wasted on the wrong tariffs.

Many participants surveyed by Omio.com were on a 600 any network minutes and unlimited text tariff.

This tariff costs £35 a month on an 18 month contract equivalent to £630 a year.

However the survey revealed that they only used 250 minutes and 150 texts of their monthly allowance.

This tariff typically costs around £15 a month which mean that If they were to switch they would save £20 a month and £270 over an 18 month contract.
