Tweaktown: "Been playing with my new board this last week Gigabyte GA-EP45T-EXTREME After using the DDR2 version the real surprise is the omission of the Dual CPU GTLref. Nice to see that they are working on it. I am sure they plan to get the rest (Driving Strangth) he mentioned in there as well sometime I am about to shoot off a email this afternoon to the Gigabyte Team to see if anyone is really working on P45 S3 sleep issues. Maybe they will get on that next, the users are piling up that it affects. And not just here either."

Techreport : "Just built a new desktop. Problem is, the end of the Gigabyte GTX 280 graphics card sits over 4 of the sata slots on the motherboard (Gigabyte Ep45t extreme). Can only access two of these sata slots with right angled end cables. Need 2 reverse right angle cables in order to use the other two sata slots, has anyone come across this problem ? Have hunted around for such cables to no avail."

Extremetech : "Here is a question, how would you stack this board up against the nVidia 790i? It has a number of similar features in the OC and BIOS arenas. It also can handle DDR3 RAM up to 2000Mhz, and has good cooling features as well. I am curious because I was able to get my 790i for $275 and wonder just how it stacks up to these newer P45 boards"

Houseofhelp : "I am trying to run DDR3 TWIN3X2048-1600C7DHX G at their rated specs with the following settings: -multiplier 4 -CAS Manual : 7-7-7-20 -VDimm=1,8V (as suggested by specs) -Performance = Standard - FSB@400Mhz. However the maximum "memtest86+ stable" speed it can reach is 1520Mhz (FSB@380) !!!! (FSB can be increased much more than 380Mhz if I choose multiplier 3,2, so the setup is not FSB limited)."

What Other Reviewers are Saying:

Neoseeker : "Today we are looking at Gigabyte's EP45-T Extreme motherboard. This is one of their high end motherboards, and it shows it. The packaging is pretty fancy, and even has a carrying handle! Gigabyte is not shy about letting you know of all of its features right on the packaging."

Extremetech : "You know those motherboards that carry features nobody wants, at a price nobody cares to pay? They have stuff you've never hear of, mysterious applets that you access before the board even posts, and they're touted as revolutionary? This isn't one of those boards, but it could have been."

Legitreviews : "Gigabyte is a top-tier motherboard and video card vendor. Their name is well known within the enthusiast community and for good reason. A recent revival in their interest in overclocking and the enthusiast has resulted in a number of fine-tuned motherboards. Their previous best board, the X48T-DQ6, was an incredible board and the GA-EP45T-Extreme builds upon the experience they gained with the X48T-DQ6."

Hardwarecannucks : "It has been a while but the big G is back at Hardware Canucks and the timing couldn't be more perfect. We have an Intel E8400 here that has been Front Side Bus (FSB) limited by every motherboard it has been tested in and based on other P45 based motherboard results, we may have just bought the right ticket to board the sky high FSB train."

Benchmarkreviews : "There are two kinds of computer enthusiasts in this world: those with a personal connection to the system motherboard, and those who simply refer to the part as a computer mainboard. For overclockers, the relationship with a well-designed motherboard can mean love or hate, and no two parts are alike."
