Orange Follows O2, Merges Fixed and Mobile Broadband Packages

France Telecom Owned Orange, has announced that it will bundle mobile and phone connections together for only £20 per month with customers getting free evening and weekend calls as well.

Mobile Broadband users will up to 3.6mbps speeds with a 3GB download limit while landline speeds will be limited to 8mbps with a similar 3GB download cap.

Orange is also bundling a free wireless router and a free USB dongle; customers will have to sign for a 18-month contract and the offer is only valid for prospective customers living within Orange's Local Loop Unbundled Areas.

Orange's director of broadband and home, Asif Aziz, commented on the offer saying that "We believe these new offers not only complement our existing fixed and mobile broadband service range, but also provide flexible alternatives to meet the needs of today's 21st century customer - who quite rightly demands a premium service at the same time as best value for money"

Orange is also offering a special wireless mobile broadband package called Internet Everywhere 30 days which allows users to stick to a one month contract, arguably at a cost. The USB dongle will come at £50 and customers will pay only £20 per month for 3GB usage.

PC Pro says though that Orange was one of the "weaker performers" in a recent survey of mobile broadband services and other service providers like O2 have already £20 mobile + fixed lines broadband packages.
