HTC Magic Comes To Vodafone UK In April

After months-long speculations and wait, second Android-powered Google handset, “HTC Magic”, is all set to make its debut in UK sometime around next month, the mobile operator Vodafone has announced. 

Along the same line, the company has launched a website for the new handset, disclosing technical details and specifications of the phone, and even offering users the chance to sign up for various updates, including price details.  

Back in February in Mobile World Congress, the company announced that the handset will be released in white in UK, France, and Spain, Black in Germany, whereas in both the colours in Italy. 

Unlike the G1 handset, the new Magic doesn’t integrate a physical keyboard, whereas it boasts of a 3.2-inch 320 x 480 touchscreen display, along with a trackball, 3.2-megapixel camera and GPS capabilities. 

In addition, the handset integrates a 528MHz Qualcomm processor, 192MB memory, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, 3G HSDPA connectivity, and other connectivity features, including GPRS, GSM, and Edge, bands 

Quoting the capability of the new handset, Vodafone said in a statement, “Everything you love about the internet, exactly how you want it. The HTC Magic will keep you entertained and up to date wherever you are”.

We were expecting a flood, we got a trickle. Fortunately, this won't last. The market needs Android to boost sales of upmarket and more expensive Smartphones. Microsoft has been particularly silent in the past year about Windows Mobile updates which leaves a narrow window for Google's Android.
