3 Slashes the cost of Mobile Broadband to £1 per GB

Mobile phone network 3 has stepped up its broadband promotion by slashing the cost of its cheapest dongle to less than £20 using a time-limited online discount voucher.

The ZTE MF627 USB Modem can now be purchased for as little as £19.35 including free delivery, using the voucher code "DONGLEDEAL" making it the cheapest PAYG broadband dongle around.

The ZTE offers download speeds of up to 3.6Mbps and also doubles as a microSD card reader supporting card sizes of up to 4GB. It is compatible with Windows 2000 onwards and the latest versions of Mac OS.

3 has also dropped the price of its Broadband max offer to £15 for 15GB worth of data, which effectively means that you will be paying £1 for every GB worth of data transfer, that's 10 times less than its 1GB offer.

The catch though is that you will need to sign up for a two-year contract and the ZTE broadband dongle that comes with it only allows for up to 3.6Mbps speeds.

But still, you will end up paying £5 more per month compared to the Broadband Lite offer and get 15x the data tarnsfer while a 18-month contract 15GB Broadband Max will set you back at twice the price (£30 vs £15 per month).
