7 Things To Know About The Nokia Booklet 3G

(4) Macbook Keyboard?

The Booklet 3G seems to take its inspiration from the Macbook Air, arguably Apple's most iconic laptop of the past few years. The Nokia netbook borrows the chiclet keyboard design down to the well defined, full size SHIFT keys that are present on full size laptop keyboards. The protruding black keys will certainly leave the users with an impression of class.

(5) Windows 7?

The marketing video of the Booklet 3G shows clearly that Windows XP will not be used. Either Windows Vista or, more probable, Windows 7 Starter Edition will be bundled with it which means that the laptop should be readily available at Windows 7's launch on the 22nd of October.

(6) Hot Swappable SIM card functionality

Consumers should be able to remove the SIM cards easily. From the pictures we saw, we guess that the SIM card reader is possibly underneath the computer but not behind the battery as it is normally the case.

It is likely that Booklet 3G netbooks will be locked, like normal phones, on particular networks because of subsidies.

(7) Specs details

Based on the fact that the Booklet 3G is HD capable, one can safely assume that it comes with an Intel GMA4500MHD (or possibly the GMA4700MHD).

We've also learnt that it will come with a 1.6GHz Atom Z530 CPU with a 120GB HDD. On the left of the Netbook, you will find the HDMI port, two USB ports and the audio out. On the right, there's one USB port, a micro SD card, the power connector and power button.

There's nothing at the back the computer and Nokia has chose a flat form factor rather than a more trendy tappered one. This has allowed the phone manufacturer to integrate the speakers at opposite ends of the laptop's palm rest.

Furthermore, Nokia has already announced that there will be a number of  colour schemes for the Booklet 3G.
