Bounty placed on legendary Apple tablet

Media-bating satirical website Valleywag has placed a bounty on Apple's elusive and much anticipated vapourware slate computer and is offering between $10,000 and $100,000 for various levels of contact with the mythical beast.

"We've had enough of trying to follow all the speculation around Apple's impending tablet — how it'll work, its size, the name, the software and whether it will save magazines. We want answers, dammit! And we're willing to pay," says the appeal on the site.

So if you spot and iSlate, or iSlab, or iTile - or whatever the hell they're going to call it, out in the wild - you could make yourself some extra beer money as follows:

$10,000 for bona fide pictures
$20,000 for video of one in action
$50,000 for video of Steve Jobs holding one
$100,000 to let the folks at Valleywag play with it for an hour

The scary thing is, for $100,000 some nutjobs might just be willing to carry out an armed raid on Apple's Cupertino HQ, because it's pretty certain there's one in there somewhere.
