Google has changed the date of a shindig for London hacks for fear of being left unnoticed, as the Interwibble gears up for Apple's opening of the kimono currently draped around its tablety product thing.

Google wrote: "We heard through the grapevine that there may be an important announcement hitting the tech world next Wednesday, so many of you may find you already have plans on Jan 27th! We want to make sure that you can also make our Open House, and that's why we've moved it to Thursday, Jan 28th, same time, same place!"

What can they mean?
