Apple's iMac woes worsen

Widespread problems with some 27-inch iMacs are being compounded with a lack of parts held in stock by authorised repairers in the UK.

A report on Gizmodo says that Apple is now offering a full refund and a 15 per cent bung to anyone whose all-in-one iMac has not been fixed by either of the two recent firmware updates which were supposed to stop problems with flickering or yellowish displays.

One UK repairer told the tech site that, despite 231 units being on back order, there are no 27-inch replacement panels anywhere in Europe, which is why the Cupertino company is offering the cash incentive to get the faulty kit out of circulation.
