Apple store goes down

Tech hacks are working themselves into a froth after the Apple online store went down earlier today.

Traditionally, minor hardware upgrades from the Cupertino company are heralded by a temporary outage of the online shop, but that doesn't stop the technorazzi from getting its panties in a collective bunch every time someone trips over the power cable at Steve's secret bunker.

This time everyone is predicting a refresh to the MacBook Pro range of premium laptops, not least because US computer flogger Best Buy has recently removed part of the range from its inventory.

The general hum is that we can expect to see Intel Core i7 processors in the top end MacBook Pro running at 2.66GHz once someone plugs the server back in.
