The company believes that the increase in Wi-Fi usage is due to the increase in UK iPhone traffic after prominent telecom service providers signed deals with BT to use its Wi-Fi network. Looking at it from another angle one could say that BT may eventually use hotspots to launch its own mobile phone network using Femtocells technology.
