Playstation 3 going 3D this summer

Sony's flagship console will jump on the 3D bandwagon later this year.

Details are scant to say the least, but Akihabara News is reporting that Sony Marketing boss John Keller has confirmed that the company is working on firmware updates which will be pushed out this summer.

The upgrade will allow PS3 fans to play games in 3D and watch 3D Blu-ray movies, no doubt using one of Sony's soon-to-be-launched 3D ready Bravia TVs.
