Apple is getting ready to celebrate 10 billion iTunes downloads by giving one very lucky downloader a $10,000 gift card.
The promotion, which is running already, will pick a winner at random if multiple entries are received at the same time, but the company is warning that anyone trying to win the cash using sneaky shenanigans will be disqualified.
"The use of any automated launching or entry software or any other means that permits the entrant to automatically enter repeatedly or in excess of the entry limitations is prohibited," say the competitions official rules.
As far as we can tell, the iTunes gift card can only be used to buy music, movies and games on the iTunes store and there doesn't seem to be any way to buy hardware with the prize fund, which is a bit of a bummer.
You could get a pretty nice Mac Pro setup with two 2.93GHz Quad Core Xeon CPUs and 32GB of RAM for $10,000, and have a few bucks left over for software.
