MSi turns Wind into hybrid hi-fi PC

MSI has launched the Wind Top AE2220, a PC the firm describes as an all-in-one hi-fi PC.

The motherboard specialist said it has placed special emphasis on strengethening the SRS virtual surround technology, as well as tweaking its own Premium Sound Technology on the device.

It sports two full-range 5W hi-fi speakers mounted through an acoustic suspension system and a magnesium-aluminium alloy membrane delivering up to 8W dynamic range.

The AE2220 Hi-Fi’s sound performance delivers strong and true bass, penetrating mid-range vocal sounds and clear high frequencies, providing users with a sweet, soft and warm listening experience perfect when using the built in blu-ray drive.

The AE2220 is powered by a variant of Intel's Core 2 Duo processor combined with Nvidia's Ion graphics. It sports a natty 21.5-inch full HD (1920x1080) 16:9 multi-touch display, using by Microsoft Windows 7 and offers both VGA and HDMI inputs, enabling other high-definition devices to output through its display. This means anything from a sattelite HD set-top box to an XBox 360 console can be connected and played through the AE2220.

Connectivity extends to six USB 2.0 ports, a 6-in-1 card reader, built-in 1.3 megapixel webcam and a Blu-ray drive with DVD rewriting ability.
