Sony Ericsson Vivaz Goes On Preorder At Vodafone UK

Vodafone UK has announced that the new Sony Ericsson Vivaz handset will be available for sale from the 9th of March for as little as £30 per month on a 24 month contract.

Vodafone's offer includes 600 minutes, unlimited texts and mobile internet (fair usage of 500MB).  The handset - which will also be available from T-Mobile - was announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this month.

This 3.2-inch touchscreen (480x320 pixels) model can capture video in 720p HD mode with a 4x digital zoom and its flash-equipped camera can take 8.1-megapixel photos, all powered by an ARM-based 720Mhz processor.

Amongst other camera-focused features are the image stabiliser, face and smile detection plus the welcomed autofocus.

Other than that, the Vivaz has DLNA certification, AGPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, HSDPA, a 8GB microSD card (to supplement the meager 75MB internal memory), integration with Google's Picasa and Youtube a 3.5mm earphone jack but no keyboard like the Vivaz Pro.

Sony Ericsson has also thrown its own media player, Playnow. Based on the popular S60 v5 platform, it will be available in four colours. Order your phone from Vodafone here.
