LG hits Europe with first organic LED telly

£120 an inch give or take

LG will be selling first Organic LED TV in Europe from May, starting in Austria, of all places.

The first commercially available OLED set will be the largest of its kind at the time of launch but don't get too excited. The creatively-named 15EL9500 has a very thin, but also very small 15-inch screen.

Picture quality on the OLED screen is said to be 'stunning', with a contrast ratio of 10,000,000 to one, HD 1366x768 resolution and a staggering response time of 0.001ms.

The sets will retail at an equally staggering £1,800 - about £120 an inch - so unless you're one of David Beckham's progeny, don't expect to be seeing one of these in your bedroom any time soon.
