Intel claims top spot in SSD rankings

Intel is the best of a bad bunch when it comes to Solid State Drives according to research carried out by DRAM Exchange.

The world's biggest chipmaker topped the polls in both categories, basically up to 100GB and over, but the Taiwanese market researcher didn't have too many nice things to say about the rest of the competition.

DRAM Exchange said that poor quality controllers, memory chips and firmware were to blame for a wide disparity of quality amongst SSDs according to Computerworld.

According to the report, Samsung has the best controllers but Intel's drives still came out on top as a complete package with the speediest boot times.
