Latest Intel chips already in short supply

Acer and Apple implicated, Core Bli7mey!

They were only launched in January but Intel's latest and greatest CPUs are already in short supply according to Internet tittle-tattle.

Digitimes is reporting that another one of their famous anyonmous sources 'from the notebook sector' has told them that Acer has placed a large enough order to put the fabs under pressure, and that Core i3, i5 and i7 CPUs are only being shipped to top tier box builders.

We're not sure where Apple figures in the favoured customer rankings but rumours of a refresh to the Mac Pro range, and Intel's habit of bunging Apple the CPU goods under the counter while no-one is looking, could also have an impact on supply.
