ATI brings DX11 to Firepro line

AMD has brought DX11 and Eyefinity multi-monitor support to its professional ATI Firepro series, with the introduction of the V8800.

AMD claims the card is the most powerful graphics card ever targeted at professionals. It said anything Nvidia put up against it is rubbish in comparison. Or something like that.

It'll cost $1500, but for that you'll get 2.6 teraflops of horsepower at a bandwidth of 147.2GB/s.

AMD said that's double the compute power of the previous generation.

AMD plans to add more models to its ATI FirePro line over the coming months

ATI Eyefinity allows V8800 users to drive up to four independent 30-inch displays, enabling 16.4 million pixels from a single card.
