Office Mobile Users Get Free Upgrade to 2010

Users of Office Mobile will be able to download the new Office Mobile 2010 upgrade from Microsoft's Windows Phone Marketplace for free.

Microsoft has announced that its Office Mobile 2010 suite offers new and improved versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and SharePoint Workspace for mobile phones.

Microsoft senior marketing manager Augusto Valdez told Information Week: “These new mobile versions offer a more touch-friendly layout and greater ability to work with documents on the phone — like editing PowerPoint presentations.”

According to the company, Office Mobile 2010 will be highly integrated with Windows Mobile 6.5 and is designed for those who need to work on the road.

Among the upgrade's stand-out features is integration between SharePoint Workspace Mobile 2010 and PowerPoint Mobile 2010. Users will now be able to access, edit and save changes to PowerPoint slides while they're offline and have those changes automatically directly from their mobiles.
