Constant Contact Takes Over NutShellMail

E-mail marketing agency Constant Contact has announced its acquisition of NutshellMail, a small company from Menlo Park, California that makes social media monitoring software.

NutshellMail allows users log in to different social networks, provides them with updates on other users, and allows them to update their social networking accounts - all directly from their e-mail account.

The takeover of NutshellMail, which cost an undisclosed sum, is further evidence of Constant Contact's plan to increase its share of the social media market.

NutshellMail saves users time by allowing them to access and customise their accounts on different social networking sites via their e-mail inbox, free of charge. Users of the collaborative service will now be able to keep up with their accounts on Twitter, Facebook, Linkedln, and MySpace via their emails.

NutshellMail's brand name is set to remain the same, but the company's employees will eventually move to Constant Contact's office in Palo Alto.
