Vodafone nabs Symbian-powered Nokia N8

HD video-tastic mobile phone

Vodafone says the Symbian-powered Nokia N8 is coming to its network soon.

The handset is the first smartphone based on Nokia's freshly-acquired Symbian ^3 OS. Through Symbian ^3, the N8 supports features such as multi touch, flick scrolling and pinch-zoom.

The phone allows you to create multiple, personalised home screens onto which your favourite apps and widgets can be loaded, and you’ll be able to run them in parallel thanks to the Nokia N8’s great multitasking capabilities [cough!].

The N8 sports a massive capacitive AMOLED touchscreen, with highly-overblown HD quality video and Dolby Digital Plus surround sound capabilities.

The N8 also claims a HD-capable 12 megapixel camera along with video and picture editing tools for faffing about with your collection on your phone, if you have the eyesight for the job.

As usual there's more detail on Vodafone's online shop-front, bar the pricing.
