Malware Attack Hits Facebook Users

Users of social networking platform Facebook have been once again targeted by a sophisticated malware attack.  

Security firm Sophos has come across a new method used by scammers to hijack users' profiles on the social networking website.

Called 'clickjacking', the malware has already attacked thousands of unsuspecting Facebook users this weekend.

An example of the malicious link is: 'This man takes a picture of himself EVERYDAY for 8 YEARS!!’

As soon as the users click on the link, a page reading "Click here to continue" appears with an invisible button hidden right beneath the cursor.

The moment users click on the invisible button, it publishes the infected link on users' profile pages, which in turn is shared with their friends on Facebook.

In his blog, Graham Cluley, the senior security consultant at Sophos has noted the similarity between the Trojan attack to the one spotted by F-Secure last week.
