Swype Input Software Now Out For Android

A beta version of the Swype input software for Android-based smartphones is now available to download.

Swype allows users to input text by gliding a finger from one letter to another using a virtual keyboard on the smartphone's touchscreen.

The Swype for Android application will offer various language options, including English, Spanish and Italian. The application's developers intend to add further language options.

Because the current application is a beta test version, users downloading the software are warned that they may experience bugs.

The company has stated that the most stable version of the software comes pre-loaded on smartphones.

A number of Android-based smartphones now come with Swype pre-loaded, including T-Mobile's myTouch 3G and the Samsung Galaxy S.

The the beta version can be downloaded by registering at Swype's official site. An e-mail will then be sent to users' phones containing further instructions.
