Apple has modified its user privacy policy so that it can collect real-time geographical location information about users of its iPod Touch, iPad and iPhone devices.

Some Apple customers who had pre-ordered the new iPhone 4 have been told they will receive the device a day before it is officially launched in the US and Europe.

Apple has released its iOS 4 operating system software for the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G and iPod Touch. The move comes ahead of the 24 June launch of its new iPhone 4 device, which comes pre-installed with the new OS.
