Nintendo 3DS Launch Pushed Back To 2011

The release date for Nintendo's revolutionary 3DS handheld 3D games console has been put back until 2011.

The 3DS console was unveiled during the E3 conference, but Reggie Fils-Aime, American president of Nintendo stated that 3DS console would not go on sale until next year.

The company had previously stated that the console would be available before 31 March  2011.

The 3DS will be able to display stereoscopic 3D images without the need for users to wear bulky 3D glasses.

The reason for the delay in launching is unclear, but it has been widely speculated that even Nintendo did not anticipate that the 3DS would be such a success at E3, and that the company needs more time to meet the expected demand at launch.

Nintendo displayed a number of games titles for the 3DS at the E3 show, including a new Mario Kart, Starfox, Paper Mario, Kid Icarus, Metal Gear Solid, The Sims 3 and Resident Evil.
