Salesforce.com, a supplier of cloud-based business software for managing customer relationships, has filed a lawsuit against Microsoft accusing the software giant of infringed one of its patents.
According to the complaint filed with the U.S. District Court, Delaware, the company accused Microsoft of using its patented technology in a number of key software products including .NET Framework and the SharePoint collaboration suit.
The complaint alleges that Microsoft knowingly infringed Salesforce.com patents.
Microsoft had earlier filed a lawsuit against against Salesforce.com, claiming that the company had infringed nine Microsoft patents.
Salesforce.com CEO Marc Benioff had said that the lawsuit filed against his company could be easily resolved, and would not affect the workings on the company.
A Microsoft spokesperson said that the company was looking into the complaint filed by Salesforce.com and will continue to pursue the its own lawsuit against Salesforce.com.The software maker also promised that users will have an option of opting in or out of the mobile advertising scheme.
