Networking giant Cisco Systems has showcased its latest energy management solution at the Cisco Live show in Las Vegas.
Cisco announced that the new Network Building Mediator Manager 6300 is part of its solutions to help businesses, enterprises and other customers reduce and manage their energy consumption, decreasing their negative influence on the environment.
Network Building Mediator Manager 6300 is part of Cisco's 'Smart Connected Buildings' strategy, aimed at helping consumers to consolidate onto a single IP-based network.
“Business energy requirements in commercial buildings represent a large percentage of the world's overall energy consumption. Providing management, facilities and IT teams with clear, real-time visibility into the impact of energy flows is a first step toward managing buildings in a more intelligent way," Sandeep Vij, vice president and general manager of Cisco's Converged Building Systems Business Unit, said in a statement.
