Intel quietly bought Israeli mobile outfit

Gotta pick a pocket or two

Intel appears to have bought struggling Israeli outfit Comsys Mobile Communication and Signal Processing Ltd for $30 million back in May, but kept quite about it, according to reports.

''Intel has not published a news release on the acquisition,'' Will Strauss, president of Forward Concepts, wrote in the firm's newsletter. According to Straus, Comsys' 80 employees will join Intel's major wireless R&D centers in Haifa and Petah Tikva.'

EETimes seems to be one of the few subscribers to the newsletter and regurgitated most of its contents here.

Someone else seems to have regurgitated most of EETime's regurgitation here.

We're not sure what we make of it all.

ComSys has been disappeared from the interweb for some time now.
