Verizon To Air 3D Baseball

Verizon Communications will telecast Major League Baseball in 3D, the company has announced on its official website on Wednesday.

Verizon Communications, one of the largest providers of broadband and wireless communication services in the United States, is planning to telecast the matches for its FiOS TV customers across New York state and north New Jersey.

Verizon’s FiOS TV is a digital cable/VOD/DVR service and offers users a selection of more than 565 television channels.

The Baseball match between the New York Yankees and Seattle Mariners, to be held on 10 and 11 July, will be made available through the YES Network on FiOS TV for Verizon customers with 3DTV sets, 3D glasses and a high-definition (HD) set-top box.

According to a news report by online communication website TMCnet the company has plans to formally announce 3D broadcasts in the winter.

Viewers can watch both the matches on channel 575.
