Hewlett-Packard has updated its MagCloud cloud-based printing and publishing platform.
The platform, which has been developed by HP Labs, offers an online market place in which publishers can reach a wider audience by offering their content in print-on-demand and digital formats.
The updated platform now includes worldwide shipping, updated binding options and support for Apple's iPad tablet device
The company also announced the launch of a MagCloud store and reader application, available from the iPad App Store.
In a statement, Andrew Bolwell, HP's New Business Initiatives director, said: “MagCloud has enabled thousands of magazine publishers to sell hundreds of thousands of magazine issues, generating millions of pages of new content. These new MagCloud services unlock an even greater opportunity for growth, providing readers the freedom to consume the targeted content they want in the format they want, whether that be print or digital.”
